Marrakech Hosts Spectacular Aerial Show at International Aviation Exhibition
On Wednesday, the skies of Marrakech transformed into an expansive arena for breathtaking aerial displays as part of the eighth edition of the Marrakech International Aviation Exhibition. The event showcased stunning performances from various Arab aerial teams, notably the impressive show by the "Green March" team from the Royal Moroccan Air Force.
Among the highlights was the debut participation of the "Falcons" team from the Royal Saudi Air Force, which presented a series of aerial maneuvers using locally manufactured and assembled "Hawk T165" aircraft. The Saudi pilots executed intricate formations and precise movements, including vertical climbs, spiral maneuvers, and coordinated formations, all enhanced by colorful smoke trails that painted the skies of the red city.
The "Falcons" team serves as the aerial display face of the Royal Saudi Air Force, established on the initiative of the late Defense Minister Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The team's goal is to showcase the capabilities of the air force and highlight the professionalism of its members. The team comprises three crews operating specially modified British "Hawk" aircraft, which are adorned in green and white. They have also participated in numerous aerial events both in Saudi Arabia and internationally, earning accolades at various global competitions.
In addition, the "UAE Knights" delivered an impressive aerial performance over Marrakech, featuring seven jet aircraft, each symbolizing one of the Emirates of the United Arab Emirates. Their display included fast-paced and precise maneuvers, such as the "Crossing" maneuver, which requires two aircraft to fly side by side at low altitude and high speed before separating to continue their performance.
The UAE team concluded their participation with the "UAE DNA" maneuver, demonstrating a high level of coordination and control among the aircraft. Five planes maintained a straight formation while two others executed intertwined spiral movements, creating a visual representation inspired by the helical structure of DNA, adorned in the colors of the UAE flag: red, green, black, and white.
