Marrakech Transport Council Discusses Key Transportation Initiatives

The Marrakech Transport Council is currently convening its regular session for October 2026, focusing on several critical points and projects related to the transportation sector and local governance within the region. The session began with the presentation of an informational report in accordance with Article 33 of the group’s internal regulations.

Among the key agenda items under discussion is a proposed amendment to the bylaws of the local development company, "Marrakech Mobility." This proposal comes as part of an initiative presented by the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, aimed at enhancing the operational dynamics of the company to better serve the public transportation needs.

Furthermore, the council is examining a protocol that will allow the group’s transportation buses to be made available to the province of Fquih Ben Salah. This initiative was also suggested by the Wali and is intended to facilitate improved transportation services in the area.

On the financial front, council members are deliberating on the budget proposal for the Marrakech Transport Council for the fiscal year 2027, which is set to be voted on during this session. This budget is crucial for ensuring that the council can effectively implement its planned projects and initiatives.

Finally, the session is expected to conclude with a review and approval of a partnership agreement aimed at conducting a study for the development of a sustainable urban mobility plan for Greater Marrakech. This initiative has been reintroduced in light of feedback from the Ministry of Interior, highlighting the importance of sustainable transportation solutions for the region.
