Outstanding Achievements in French Reading Competition
The city of Meknes has showcased its educational prowess by securing top positions in the inaugural national competition, "Maroc Cap’Lecture," which emphasizes reading in French. Remarkably, students from Meknes clinched first place in two out of four categories, thanks to the outstanding performances of Anir Bouzkawin from the public postal school group and Nada Rahmouni from the private Mamonya school group.
Anir Bouzkawin achieved first place in the second category, which is designated for students in the last three years of primary education, representing the Fès-Meknes region. This accomplishment is particularly impressive considering he studies at a public educational institution. Similarly, Nada Rahmouni took the top spot in the third category, which caters to middle school students, further highlighting the academic excellence in Meknes.
The recognition of these talented students illustrates their exceptional abilities in a national competition that celebrated a passion for reading and the quality of performance. It also shines a light on the competencies present in both public and private educational institutions within the city.
The announcement of the winners concluded the first edition of the competition, organized by the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, in collaboration with various organizations, including the French Development Agency and the French Institute in Morocco, alongside France Éducation International.
This competition witnessed widespread participation, with a total of 821,342 students registered, who competed across four categories encompassing primary, middle, and high school education. The process involved local, regional, and national elimination rounds leading up to the finals held in Rabat.
This initiative aims to instill a culture of reading within educational institutions, enhance linguistic competencies among students, and develop their abilities in comprehension, analysis, expression, critical thinking, and creativity.
Anir Bouzkawin's victory, coming from a public educational institution, serves as a proud testament to the efforts of students and educators alike. It underscores the importance of fostering an environment that encourages reading and learning, which is essential for discovering and honing talents, thereby opening broader horizons for success in national competitions.
