On Sunday, September 6, 2026, the cyclist and peace ambassador Miguel Masaïsaï will commence the next leg of his intercontinental journey, which will take him from Goma to Rabat, Morocco.

By urging the public to come out in large numbers on September 6, the team behind “Pedals for Peace”, through the peace cyclist, aims to transform this logistical departure into a collective demonstration of commitment to the values of peace and cross-border fraternity. Congolese cyclist Miguel Masaïsaï arrived in Kinshasa on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, after completing the east-west crossing of the DRC as part of his peace initiative “Pedals for Peace”. The goal is to cover nearly 14,000 kilometers by bike, from Goma (DRC) to Rabat (Morocco), traversing 17 African countries to promote a message of peace, unity, and national cohesion for the eastern DRC.
Having set off from Goma on May 1, 2026, the marathon cyclist has journeyed for 67 days through several Congolese provinces, overcoming numerous challenges before reaching the capital. During his previous endeavor, Miguel Masaïsaï successfully completed a 7,000-kilometer journey connecting Goma to Cape Town, South Africa, in 2025.
