Mogador International Airport in Essaouira has reported a remarkable increase of 11.97% in passenger traffic by the end of April 2026, compared to the same period last year, according to data from the National Airports Office. The latest statistics reveal that the airport welcomed a total of 97,881 travelers during the first four months of this year, in contrast to 87,420 during the same timeframe last year. Specifically, in April alone, the number of passengers passing through Mogador Airport reached 32,065, marking a substantial rise of 25.29% compared to 25,593 passengers in April 2025.
The distribution data of passenger air traffic at this airport indicates a strong dominance of international flights, with a total of 97,641 travelers recorded, representing an increase of 14.41%. In comparison, domestic flights accounted for 240,000 passengers, which reflects a dramatic decline of 88.43%. Furthermore, the airport has also seen a 16.31% increase in air traffic movements, with a total of 756 flights recorded by the end of April 2026, compared to 650 flights during the same period last year.
On a national scale, commercial air traffic across Moroccan airports reached 12,336,962 passengers by the end of April 2026, reflecting an increase of 9.7% compared to the same period the previous year.
