Remarkable Growth in Moroccan Automotive Exports

According to a recent report from the Foreign Exchange Office, Moroccan automotive sector exports have experienced a significant surge, reaching an impressive total of 116.148 billion dirhams by the end of August 2026. This marks a substantial increase of 14.5% compared to the same period in the previous year, showcasing the sector's resilience and growth potential in a competitive global market.

The report highlights that this remarkable performance is primarily attributed to a notable rise in sales within various segments of the automotive industry. Specifically, exports in the manufacturing segment have risen by 19%, amounting to 44.747 billion dirhams. Additionally, the wiring segment has also seen an increase of 13.9%, totaling 44.777 billion dirhams, while exterior equipment exports have surged by an astounding 43.6%, reaching 3.769 billion dirhams. These figures underscore the diverse strengths of Morocco's automotive sector and its capability to meet international demand.

In addition to the automotive sector, the aerospace industry has also shown promising growth, with exports climbing by 21.5% to 22.969 billion dirhams. This growth has been bolstered by increased sales in the assembly segment, which rose by 26.9% to 15.874 billion dirhams, as well as Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS), which saw a 10.9% increase to 7.019 billion dirhams.

Furthermore, the agriculture and agri-food sector has not lagged behind, reporting an 8.3% rise in exports to 65.119 billion dirhams, driven by a 13.6% increase in food industry exports that reached 31.143 billion dirhams. However, it is worth noting that certain sectors, such as phosphates and derivatives, textiles and leather, and electronics and electricity, have experienced declines in exports, with decreases of 6%, 5.6%, and 2.9%, respectively.

Overall, the foreign trade indicators reveal that Morocco's total exports by the end of August have risen by 8.7%, reaching a total of 334.892 billion dirhams. This upward trend reflects Morocco's growing presence in international markets and the ongoing expansion of its export capabilities.
