Moroccan Influencer Faces Prison Time for Controversial Content
The Moroccan social media influencer, Soukaina Glamour, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison along with a three-year ban from all social media platforms due to the dissemination of content deemed contrary to public morals. The verdict was delivered by the Marrakech Court of First Instance on August 17, 2026, where she was fined 500 dirhams as well.
Known in real life as Soukaina Janah, the influencer was apprehended on August 12 at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, just as she was about to board an international flight out of Morocco. Her arrest was the result of an investigation conducted under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office, highlighting the serious legal repercussions that can arise from online activities.
This is not the first time Soukaina has faced legal challenges. In February 2020, she was previously sentenced by the same court to two years in prison along with a fine of 10,000 dirhams, related to the infamous "Hamza mon bb" case. After serving her sentence, she was released in October 2021, only to find herself back in legal trouble with this latest conviction.
