Strategic Election Plans and Candidate Listings

The Moroccan Liberal Party has officially unveiled its comprehensive election program and preliminary candidate lists during a recent gathering in the city of Tetouan, gearing up for the upcoming legislative elections. The party, under the banner of "Accountability First," is determined to compete vigorously for a prominent position in the political landscape.

According to the party's Secretary-General, Ismail Sharia, the organization has established itself as a significant political force in the Tetouan region and across northern Morocco. The party aims to play a vital role in driving change and addressing the needs of citizens, particularly in challenging economic circumstances.

Key Focus Areas of the Election Program

The election program, as articulated by political bureau member Mohamed Bakri, emphasizes the enhancement of social protection for individuals with disabilities and vulnerable groups. The party is committed to reducing prices of essential goods such as sugar, flour, oil, vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish. Additionally, it plans to cap the prices of gas and fuel while also advocating for a decrease in water and electricity charges.

On the tax front, the party proposes a system aimed at achieving tax fairness that considers the needs of low-income individuals. It seeks to broaden the tax base to include wealth taxes, vacant properties, large agricultural estates, deep-sea fishing operations, and quarries, while also advocating for the complete elimination of tax exemptions and privileges.

Economically, the program focuses on opening avenues with new partners, encouraging foreign investment, refining legislative and administrative frameworks, and advocating for an increase in the minimum wage to improve purchasing power. Furthermore, it includes initiatives aimed at integrating Moroccan expatriates into public policies and developmental projects, alongside reducing travel and accommodation costs in tourist facilities and exempting them from certain taxes and fees.

In terms of women's issues, the party aspires to increase women's economic empowerment from 19% to 40%, while also calling for the establishment of a national sports policy that yields tangible results.
