Morocco-Italy Summit: Strengthening Economic Partnerships in Rabat

Morocco-Italy Economic Summit: A Step Towards Enhanced Bilateral Relations

The Moroccan capital was the backdrop for the second edition of the Morocco-Italy Economic Summit, which commenced on Tuesday. This significant event was dedicated to reinforcing bilateral relationships and invigorating investment flows between the two nations. Jointly organized by the Moroccan Chamber of Commerce in Italy (CCMI) and its Italian counterpart in Morocco, the summit aims to transition the long-standing historical ties into tangible industrial collaborations. A particular emphasis was placed on innovative sectors that promise high value-added opportunities.

During the summit, Marouan El Mansoub, the president of CCMI, highlighted the enthusiasm generated by the inaugural event held in Rome, underlining the increasing interest of Italian businesses in the Moroccan market. He mentioned the signing of several partnership agreements, with additional projects nearing completion, demonstrating a rapidly accelerating cooperation between the two countries.

Morocco: An Attractive Destination for Investors

Nihal Azzouz, the Director of Investment, underscored the national strategy that aims to place the private sector at the forefront of economic growth. Morocco has set an ambitious target to mobilize 550 billion dirhams in investments and create 500,000 jobs by 2026. She emphasized the structural advantages of the country, which include political stability, modern infrastructure, and privileged access to extensive international markets. Morocco is also distinguished in strategic sectors such as automotive, aerospace, and renewable energies.

The introduction of a new Investment Charter, which offers incentives that can reach up to 30% of project costs, further solidifies this positive trend. So far, 250 projects have received approval, amounting to over 414 billion dirhams and nearly 179,000 jobs, confirming Morocco's growing attractiveness on the global stage.
