Morocco Participates in the Inaugural Lumière Summit

Strengthening International Cooperation in Cinema
Morocco's participation, led by Abdelaziz Boujdaini, the Secretary General of the Communication Sector, and Reda Benjelloun, the Director of the Moroccan Cinematic Center, underscores the country's commitment to fostering international collaboration in the realms of cinema and audiovisual arts. This engagement reflects Morocco's determination to actively contribute to a dialogue centered on cooperation and the enhancement of cultural diversity on a global scale. Furthermore, Morocco has joined the "Lumière Alliance" as a founding member, which stands as the first global network uniting national film institutions worldwide. This alliance will facilitate the exchange of experiences, best practices, and insights into the significant challenges facing the film industry today.
In addition to its alliance participation, Morocco plans to leverage its unique expertise and strategic position as a crossroads between Africa, the Arab world, the Mediterranean region, and Europe. The nation will also partake in the "IRIS" initiative (International Initiative for the Resilience of Independent Cinema Theaters) and participate in an experimental program focused on visual education.
