Morocco Named a Priority Country in U.S. Agricultural Development Program

Morocco Included in U.S. Agricultural Development Initiative

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has officially recognized Morocco as one of the priority countries to benefit from the "Food for Progress" program for the fiscal year 2026. Alongside Morocco, countries such as Bangladesh, Bolivia, Ecuador, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand have also been designated as key participants in this significant initiative.

This program is poised to allocate up to $226 million to finance new cooperative agreements, extending over five years, with individual project funding ranging between $28 million and $35 million. The primary goal of the "Food for Progress" initiative is to bolster agricultural and economic development in partner countries. It seeks to achieve this by funding projects aimed at enhancing productivity and expanding trade opportunities.

Furthermore, the program emphasizes the sale of American agricultural products in developing markets, directing the generated revenues towards financing local developmental projects while simultaneously promoting American export opportunities.

Details regarding the funding opportunities associated with this program will be made available on the Grants.gov platform, providing interested parties with essential information on how to apply and participate in these initiatives.
