Morocco Secures Second Place at the Nations Cup in Rabat
In a thrilling display of equestrian talent and sportsmanship, Morocco has proudly claimed the second position in the Nations Cup of show jumping held on October 11, 2026, in Rabat. The competition, part of the illustrious Morocco Royal Tour, saw the Moroccan team competing fiercely against top international teams, ultimately finishing just behind France. The event took place at the prestigious Royal Equestrian Sports Complex and Tbourida Dar Es Salam, featuring challenging obstacles set at a height of 1.50 meters in the CSIO4*-W category.
After an intense two rounds, Morocco, along with France, Germany, and Belgium, ended up tied on penalty points, necessitating a jump-off to determine the final standings. The French team emerged victorious, thanks to the outstanding performance of rider Jeanne Sadran, who rode Dexter de Kerglenn to a flawless round, completing the course in an impressive time of 33.24 seconds. Abdelkebir Ouaddar, representing Morocco and partnered with Festival d'Argouges, also delivered a commendable performance, finishing without any faults in a time of 33.78 seconds, which secured Morocco's position as vice-champions. Germany took home the third-place trophy, edging out Belgium for the podium finish.
The Moroccan squad included talented riders such as Ali Al Ahrach, El Ghali Boukaa, Abdelkebir Ouaddar, and Abdeslam Bennani Smires. Despite incurring four penalty points in the first round, the team rallied together to deliver a faultless performance in the second, allowing them to remain in contention for the coveted title. Earlier in the day, Ouaddar showcased his skills once more by clinching third place in the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Horses (SOREC) event, riding Larsino to another impeccable round in 46.89 seconds.
The excitement of the Morocco Royal Tour is set to continue as it concludes in El Jadida from October 15 to 18, coinciding with the Horse Show event, promising more thrilling equestrian action for fans and competitors alike.
