Morocco Achieves Top Rank in Travel Safety in Africa
According to a recent report by the travel platform HelloSafe, Morocco has emerged as the safest country for travelers in Africa. The report, titled "Ranking of the Safest Countries for Travel Worldwide," awarded Morocco a score of 73.25, placing it in the 42nd position globally out of nearly 193 countries included in the assessment. This impressive ranking underscores Morocco's commitment to providing a secure environment for both local and international tourists.
The evaluation methodology utilized by HelloSafe involves assessing various risk factors that travelers may encounter in different countries. These factors encompass crime rates, levels of violence within communities, involvement in armed conflicts, the quality of healthcare infrastructure, military presence, and the risks associated with natural and environmental disasters. Furthermore, the ranking incorporates additional data on travel safety, such as cybersecurity measures and the ability to address climate-related risks, leveraging information from esteemed international organizations, including the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the World Bank.
On a global scale, Iceland was recognized as the safest travel destination, followed by Singapore and Denmark. Notably, European countries dominated the top ranks, as many of them exhibited the highest safety levels. The authors of the report emphasize that the travel safety ranking does not merely gauge the attractiveness of a tourist destination but rather aims to assess the potential risks travelers might face during their journeys. This makes it a valuable reference tool for travelers and insurance companies when selecting their travel destinations.
