Close on its heels was Delta Holding S.A (CSE:DHO), which climbed 8.98% or 4.77 points to finish the day at 57.88. Furthermore, SMI (CSE:SMI) saw a notable increase of 7.53%, gaining 490.00 points to reach 6,998.00.
However, not all stocks shared in the positive momentum. The session also saw some declines, with Marocaine pour le Commerce et l’Industrie Banque SA (CSE:BCI) being the worst performer, down 4.13% or 25.00 points, closing at 578.00. Similarly, Societe des Boissons du Maroc SA (CSE:SBM) decreased by 2.81% or 59.00 points to end at 2,041.00, while CTM (CSE:CTM) fell 2.66% or 23.00 points, closing at 843.00.
Overall, the Casablanca Stock Exchange witnessed a favorable ratio of advancing stocks to declining ones, with 46 stocks rising compared to just 10 that fell, and 4 remaining unchanged. In the commodities market, crude oil for July delivery faced a decline of 3.59%, settling at $84.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for August delivery dropped 3.44%, hitting $87.27 a barrel. On a brighter note, the August Gold Futures contract increased by 2.81%, trading at $4,229.45 a troy ounce.
In foreign exchange, the EUR/MAD pair rose by 0.22% to 10.72, while the USD/MAD also saw an uptick of 0.32%, reaching 9.27. Conversely, the US Dollar Index Futures experienced a slight dip, decreasing by 0.10% to 99.75. This trading session underscores the dynamic nature of Morocco's stock market as it continues to capture the attention of investors.
