Morocco Strategic Minerals Reports Promising Copper Sampling Results
On August 20, 2026, Morocco Strategic Minerals Corporation (TSXV: MCC) announced significant advancements in its exploration efforts within the Western High Atlas District of Morocco. Following systematic underground and surface channel sampling at its Ouneine site, along with selective samples from Tanfit and Ijoukak, the company is making strides in defining drill targets that could potentially lead to high-grade copper discoveries.
The results from the underground Gallery A at Ouneine yielded impressive findings, with 77 channel samples taken from 15 distinct sections. Notably, eight of these sections recorded copper grades exceeding 1.0%, with the highest reading reaching an extraordinary 5.74% copper along with 39 grams per ton (g/t) of silver over a sampled length of 2.1 meters. This section included an even more remarkable interval where 13.18% copper and 88 g/t silver were reported over 0.9 meters, highlighting the rich mineralization present in this area.
Surface channel sampling at Ouneine also produced encouraging results, where 34 samples were collected from 13 channels. Six of these channels reported copper grades greater than 1.0%, including a notable 1.55% copper and 199 g/t silver over a length of 2.0 meters, and 1.25% copper over 4.0 meters. These findings are instrumental in confirming the presence of copper-silver mineralization across the site.
In the Tanfit area, results from underground grab sampling were equally promising. Of the six samples taken from Gallery 17, five returned copper grades exceeding 2.0%, with the highest value recorded at 7.76% copper and 42 g/t silver. Historical stockpile sampling has also indicated multiple high-grade copper occurrences, with readings up to 23.60% copper and 40 g/t silver, reinforcing the potential for significant mineral deposits in this region.
Exploration at the Ijoukak site has further supported the company’s optimistic outlook. Out of 16 underground grab samples taken from historical workings, 15 returned copper values above 1.0%. Remarkably, nine of these samples from the 1670 level alone showed copper concentrations surpassing 4.0%, peaking at 27.68% copper. The 1700-level workings also revealed impressive grades, with values reaching up to 26.43% copper and 23.47% copper from individual samples.
These findings are being integrated with geological and structural mapping efforts to refine and prioritize drill targets throughout the Western High Atlas District. The company’s systematic approach, which includes channel sampling and three-dimensional interpretation, aims to advance the most promising targets towards drilling phases, thereby increasing the likelihood of discovering economically viable copper deposits.
As Morocco Strategic Minerals continues to explore and develop its mineral assets, the ongoing results underscore the company's commitment to unlocking the full potential of its properties, ultimately contributing to the growth of the mineral resource sector in Morocco.
