Commitment to Peace and Regional Security
This visit is part of Morocco's commitment as a founding member of the Peace Council, reflecting the Royal High Directives announced during the inaugural meeting held in Washington under the presidency of Donald Trump, the President of the United States. The meeting was marked by the signing of an agreement concerning Morocco's participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza. During discussions, the Moroccan side emphasized that this contribution underscores the Kingdom's deep commitment to the values of peace, cooperation, and international solidarity, and will play a vital role in establishing lasting peace and security in the Middle East. Furthermore, Morocco highlighted its extensive experience in peacekeeping operations under the auspices of the United Nations, as well as its ongoing dedication on both regional and international fronts, showcasing Royal initiatives that positively influence security and social progress through regional integration projects.
In response, senior officials from the Peace Council for Gaza and the Commander of the ISF praised Morocco's involvement in this initiative. This initiative will lead to the deployment of senior FAR officers to the Joint Command of the ISF, as well as personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), alongside the establishment of a military field hospital. At the conclusion of this meeting, both parties signed the agreement concerning Morocco's participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza. This document serves as the legal framework covering the technical and operational aspects of this participation and reflects a mutual desire to contribute through tangible humanitarian and security actions towards fostering an environment of peace and security in the region, as stated in the communiqué from the National Defense Administration.
