Morocco is solidifying its role as a strategic partner for the Port of Castellon, located on the eastern coast of Spain, with a remarkable 50% increase in trade exchanges since the beginning of the current year, as reported by the Castellon Port Authority. With a total cargo volume of 303,844 tons processed thus far, Morocco ranks among the top two trading partners of the port in terms of exchange volume. This continuous growth in trade flows reflects an ongoing enhancement of economic and logistical relations between the Kingdom and the Mediterranean port platform, according to the same source.
The Port Authority further noted that this dynamic development can be attributed particularly to the trade missions organized in Morocco aimed at strengthening ties with shippers and logistics operators while stimulating the flow of goods. This noteworthy performance cements Morocco's position as a fundamental lever within the internationalization strategy of the Spanish port, exemplifying the effectiveness of initiatives taken to diversify trade exchanges and create new economic opportunities.
In this context, Rubén Ibáñez, the President of the Castellon Port Authority, emphasized that this development underscores the validity of the trade missions and their positive impact on the economic activity of the port, simultaneously highlighting Morocco's growing role in trade dynamics across the Mediterranean basin.
