Morocco is on the verge of a groundbreaking advancement in artificial intelligence infrastructure with the impending establishment of a next-generation data centre, which has captured significant international interest. An international consortium composed of notable industry players, including Naver Cloud, Nexus Core Systems, Lloyds Capital, and Nvidia, has selected a site near Casablanca for this ambitious project, which is projected to cost around $1.2 billion. This data centre aims to provide robust AI computing services to regions across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, demonstrating Morocco's strategic position as a technological hub in these areas.
The consortium's initiative is particularly noteworthy as it plans to develop a data centre with a substantial capacity of 500 megawatts (MW), designed specifically to meet the growing demands of high-density computing and AI workloads.
