Formation of a New Government Majority in Morocco

The Authenticity and Modernity Party in Morocco has officially announced a coalition to form a government majority consisting of four political parties, following two rounds of political consultations led by the newly appointed Prime Minister, Fatima Zahra Mansouri. According to a statement from the party, this new majority includes the Authenticity and Modernity Party, the Istiqlal Party, the Socialist Union of Popular Forces, and the Progress and Socialism Party.

The statement further revealed that Mansouri initiated extensive discussions with several parties represented in the parliament immediately after her appointment by King Mohammed VI as Prime Minister, as mandated by Article 47 of the Moroccan Constitution. These discussions focused on addressing both internal and external challenges facing Morocco, with the aim of creating a strong and cohesive majority capable of meeting public expectations, ensuring dignified living conditions, enhancing freedoms and rights, and achieving social justice and equitable economic prosperity.

Commitment to Competence and Integrity

The coalition agreement was reached after careful consideration of the national and international contexts, as well as the results of the legislative elections held on September 23, where the Authenticity and Modernity Party emerged as the leading party. The four parties will propose names for ministers who are not only competent but also possess political acumen, integrity, and uprightness, in order to establish a government capable of swiftly implementing a government program that meets the expectations of the Moroccan people.
