Morocco is making significant strides in its energy transition by launching a new solar power initiative, which will feature an impressive 90 MW capacity. This project is particularly noteworthy as it employs cutting-edge technology designed to enhance efficiency and performance, aligning perfectly with the nation’s ambitious goal of sourcing over 52% of its electricity from renewable resources by the year 2030. The solar modules, known as Tiger Neo 3.0, will be provided by the renowned Chinese company Jinko Solar. Specifically engineered for challenging climates, the Neo 3.0 modules are ideal for Morocco’s hot desert conditions. Their design incorporates a lower temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C, ensuring optimal performance even during the extreme heat of summer. Recent statistics indicate a substantial 46% increase in Morocco's solar technology imports in the first quarter of 2026, underscoring the country's commitment to expanding its renewable energy infrastructure.

Morocco has established itself as a leader in the global renewable energy sector, primarily due to its high solar insolation rates, averaging more than 3,000 hours of sunshine annually.
