Morocco's FUS Seeks Testimony from Chihab in Sports Dispute

Moroccan Football Club Seeks Resolution Through Former Director's Testimony

In a compelling turn of events within Moroccan football, the club Fath Union Sport (FUS) has requested that the Professional Football League's Dispute Committee hear the testimony of Tarik Chihab, the former sporting director of the team. This appeal arises following a dispute with Adil Bouzbib, the former administrative secretary, who has taken legal action against the club. Bouzbib claims that FUS terminated his contract unlawfully, insisting that he was entitled to continue his role for an additional season under the terms of his contract.

FUS contends that Bouzbib’s contract expired last June, a claim that Bouzbib disputes. He asserts that he signed a new contract allowing him to fulfill his duties until September of the previous year, prior to the club's abrupt decision to part ways with him. Bouzbib has provided the Dispute Committee with evidence of his continued involvement with the club after June 30, including receiving salaries for July and August, which he argues indicates he was still actively working with FUS during that time.

To strengthen its position in this dispute, FUS has turned to Chihab for his testimony. It is notable that Chihab himself was dismissed from his role as sporting director before the conclusion of the last season, primarily due to personal issues he faced, which led to instability within the club’s technical framework following the firing of coach Abdelhabib Bensultan. He was eventually replaced by the Romanian coach Akram, who also faced dismissal, leading to the appointment of Croatian coach Staresvic.

This ongoing saga highlights the complexities of contractual obligations in professional sports and the legal ramifications that can ensue from disputes within football clubs, emphasizing the need for clarity and adherence to agreements in the dynamic environment of athletics.
