Morocco's National Football Team Prepares for World Cup 2026: Press Conference Announcement and Friendly Matches

The Moroccan national football team's head coach, Mohamed Wahbi, is set to hold a press conference this coming Tuesday at the Mohamed VI Football Complex in Salé. This important event will be dedicated to announcing the final roster of players who will be invited to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is scheduled to take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. According to a statement released by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation on its official website, the press conference is scheduled to commence at 7 PM.

Recently, the federation revealed that the Moroccan national team, known as the 'Atlas Lions,' will engage in three preparatory matches leading up to the World Cup. The first match will see the national team face Burundi on May 26 at the Mohamed VI Football Complex (behind closed doors). Following that, the team, led by star player Achraf Hakimi, will take on Madagascar on June 2 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. Their final friendly match is scheduled against Norway on June 7 in the United States.

It's worth noting that Morocco has been drawn into Group C for the 2026 World Cup alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti. This grouping sets the stage for what could be an exciting and challenging tournament for the Moroccan team, as they aim to make their mark on the world stage.
