Morocco's ONCF Rolls Out the Red Carpet for MRE This Summer

ONCF Launches Special Summer Plan for Moroccan Residents Abroad

From June 22 to September 13, 2026, Morocco's National Office of Railways (ONCF) has unveiled an extensive special plan dubbed "Summer 2026". This initiative is a proactive response to the anticipated record influx of travelers, particularly targeting Moroccans residing abroad (MRE). To cater to this surge, ONCF will deploy 237 trains daily, while also introducing tailored fare discounts designed specifically for MREs, ensuring that their journey home is as seamless and affordable as possible.

Exclusive Offers and Enhanced Services for Travelers

To facilitate the return of the Moroccan diaspora, the railway operator has rolled out the "Ahlan Family" scheme, which provides a substantial 30% discount on train fares for Moroccans living overseas, alongside free travel for children. This service strategically focuses on major entry points into the country, with direct connections from Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, Marrakech, and Tangier to various railway stations throughout the network. To efficiently manage the expected influx, 36 high-frequency shuttle services will operate daily between Casablanca Airport and train stations, with departures scheduled every hour from 6 AM to 11 PM.

ONCF's comprehensive logistical framework aims to ensure that all travelers experience comfort, smoothness, security, and accessibility during their journeys. The operational capacity includes 30 high-speed Al Boraq trains and 70 regular Al Atlas connections, emphasizing popular routes, particularly the night service between Tangier and Oujda, as well as new stops between Safi and Benguerir. In addition to MRE-specific benefits, travelers who book online can access one of the 250,000 promotional tickets priced at just 49 dirhams or purchase a digital summer pass. Behind the scenes, ONCF's technical teams will work tirelessly, day and night, to maintain the regularity of services throughout the season.
