Morocco's Tetouan Continues to Dominate the Second Division Championship

Morocco's Tetouan Maintains Its Lead

In an impressive display of skill and strategy, Morocco's Tetouan has solidified its position at the top of the second division professional league following the recent matches of round 19. This significant round of games not only highlighted Tetouan's dominance but also showcased notable shifts in both the upper and lower tiers of the standings. The team achieved a crucial away victory against Mouloudia Oujda, triumphing with a score of 3-1, marking the beginning of a new chapter under their newly appointed coach, Abdelkarim Jenani. With this win, Tetouan has now accumulated 35 points, further strengthening its lead in the league.

On the other hand, Mouloudia Oujda's performance has faltered, leaving them in sixth place, tied on points with Chabab Massira, who also faced defeat against their hosts, Chabab Atlas Khénifra, losing by a narrow margin of 1-0. In the pursuit of the top spot, Wydad Temara has managed to cling onto second place with 33 points after securing a narrow victory over Racing Casablanca, while Union Amal Tiznit has climbed to third place with 31 points following an impressive 3-0 win against Stade Marocain.

Another notable advancement in the standings was made by Chabab Riad Salmi, who rose to fourth place with 29 points after their win against Ittihad Abid Al-Jad. Meanwhile, Wydad Fes achieved a significant victory over Chabab Mohammedia with a score of 3-0, allowing them to ascend to seventh place with 26 points, sharing this position with both Chabab Mohammedia and Chabab Khénifra. A tightly contested match between the club of Kenitra and the Ittihad Islamic Ouji ended in a goalless draw, leaving Ouji at 11th place with 22 points, just a point ahead of their rivals.

Struggle at the Bottom of the Table

At the lower end of the standings, the fight to avoid relegation remains fierce. The match between Raja Beni Mellal and Chabab Ben Guerir ended in a stalemate, which keeps Ben Guerir at 14th place with 18 points, while Raja Beni Mellal remains just above them in the penultimate position with 15 points. This ongoing struggle has heightened the stakes for upcoming matches, as teams look to secure their place in the league for next season.
