Call for Dialogue to Protect Dental Professionals

The National Federation of Dental Technicians has expressed its hope to put an end to the ongoing attempts to tarnish the reputation of the profession through baseless and repetitive complaints aimed at undermining professionals. This statement comes in light of recent court rulings that cleared several sector professionals of false accusations. The Federation has reiterated its rejection of the continuous targeting of the profession through spurious complaints and unjustified inspection campaigns.

In an official statement, the Federation has called for responsible and serious dialogue with authorities and all relevant stakeholders to establish clear guidelines for professional practice. They emphasized the need to ensure a legal environment that protects workers, upholds justice, and expedites the regulation and organization of the profession, thereby ensuring clarity in responsibilities while safeguarding citizens' rights and preserving the dignity of professionals.

Recent Court Rulings Reinforce Professional Integrity

The Moroccan Association of Dental Technicians recently announced the issuance of a series of preliminary court rulings from various courts across the kingdom (Salé, Khémisset, and Kelaat Seraghna), declaring the professionals in the sector innocent of charges related to “illegal medical practice, impersonation, and fraud.”

In this context, the Federation praised the recent judicial rulings, stating that they reaffirm the independence of the Moroccan judiciary and its respect for law and established facts. The Federation also expressed hope that these rulings will put an end to the attempts to damage the profession's reputation through malicious and repetitive complaints aimed at weakening professionals and deterring them from fulfilling their duties and defending their rights and achievements.

Furthermore, the Federation reiterated the vital role played by dental technicians as quasi-medical professions in Morocco since the country's independence, lamenting the ongoing harassment, prosecutions, and baseless complaints, as well as unjustified inspection campaigns lacking any legal foundation, which professionals in the sector continue to face in various regions of Morocco.
