On Friday, May 29, the National Judicial Police successfully arrested the primary suspect involved in the alarming incident of encouraging a minor to consume a substance believed to be intoxicating. This event gained significant attention after a video depicting the act was widely circulated on social media platforms.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security, the police force responded with great seriousness to the viral video that showed two individuals coercing a minor into consuming what appeared to be an alcoholic beverage. The identities of the suspects were quickly established, leading to the apprehension of one individual during a coordinated operation in the Douar “Al-Khasama Malin Al-Wad,” located near the city of Benslimane. This operation was executed in collaboration with local gendarmerie forces.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are brothers and that the child victim is the son of their third brother, who is only six years old. One brother has been apprehended, while the other’s identity has been fully confirmed, with plans for his arrest underway.
