Notaries Mobilize for National Strike
On March 12, 2026, the National Instance of Notaries in Morocco officially announced a national strike scheduled from March 18 to April 5, 2026. Main Objectives of the Strike
During this period of protest, the notaries are calling for a comprehensive review of the proposed law to ensure better protection of their professional status. They demand that their observations be taken into account prior to the law's final approval and seek clarification on the operational modalities and guarantees related to the acts they authenticate. As a result, all notarial services will be suspended nationwide, which will significantly disrupt vital services such as marriage contracts, real estate transactions requiring a notarial act, and inheritance procedures.
The National Instance of Notaries has urged for widespread participation in the strike and has indicated that the movement could be extended or intensified if their demands are not adequately addressed.
