The case concerning the 'Dar Al-Atfal Al-Wafa' institution in the city of Fes has entered a critical new phase, following the regional judicial police's referral of its investigative findings to the public prosecutor's office. This move comes amid suspicions of a range of illicit activities occurring within the institution.
Investigations have encompassed a number of current and former employees and officials, as well as other individuals connected to the institution and the overseeing association. After reviewing the findings of these inquiries, the public prosecutor at the Fes Court of Appeal decided to place 12 individuals in police custody, aiming to further delve into the investigation and clarify responsibilities related to the alleged actions under scrutiny.
The list of suspects includes educators, former officials, security guards, and the president of the overseeing association. Additionally, six other individuals are anticipated to be presented to the public prosecutor while being released, related to the same case.
The authorities are probing various allegations, including human trafficking, exploitation of a woman and a minor, failure to report a crime, as well as acts of violence, assault, and the suspected sexual abuse of a minor through the use of force.
The investigations also involve individuals such as a sewing shop owner, a former official at the institution, a former president of the association, an employee from the National Cooperation, along with a social worker and a supervisor.
These details remain part of the ongoing judicial investigation, with the outcome dependent on the progress of inquiries and decisions made by the public prosecutor and judiciary concerning the responsibilities and actions attributed to those involved.
