School Entry Dates for the 2026-2027 Academic Year
The Ministry of National Education, Primary Education, and Sports has officially notified all parents, guardians, students, educational staff, and the general public that the school year 2026-2027 will commence on the pre-established official date, in accordance with Ministerial Decree No. 047.26, issued on July 3, 2026, regarding the organization of the academic year.
According to a statement from the ministry, administrative and supervisory staff, as well as evaluation and inspection personnel, are expected to report to their workplaces to sign the entry documents on September 1, 2026. Subsequently, educators and researchers in education will join their respective educational institutions to complete the same process on September 2.
Furthermore, it was specified that children in preschool, as well as students in the first and second grades of primary education, the first year of secondary education, and first-year common branches of secondary education, will begin their school year on September 3. Students in the third and fourth grades of primary education, the second year of secondary education, and first-year baccalaureate students will start on September 4.
The fifth of September has been designated for students in the fifth and sixth grades of primary education, the third year of secondary education, and second-year baccalaureate students. Moreover, the official and compulsory start of classes for all educational levels and branches is set for September 7. Classes for non-formal education and second-chance education programs will begin on October 5, 2026.
The ministry reiterated its call for all educational stakeholders, administrators, families, and partners to engage collectively in ensuring the success of the upcoming school year and to secure time for learning and educational activities for all students across various educational institutions.
