Every day, and indeed every hour, a scandal erupts involving the regional multi-service company in Marrakech, which seems to be swimming against the current, failing to meet its commitments and provide quality services to the local population, as well as to the tourism sector in the Red City. The latest incident to come to light involved a burst pipe on Avenue Zerktouni, near a crucial intersection in the Gueliz neighborhood. This unfortunate situation led to drinking water flooding the pedestrian walkway, causing significant disruption to both vehicular traffic and foot traffic, including foreign tourists who were left astonished and bewildered as the technical teams from the company failed to respond promptly to repair the damage and prevent the waste of potable water.

This raises the pressing question: how long will the regional company in Marrakech remain an obstacle to development, wielding a sword over the necks and pockets of citizens? Such scenes do not reflect the image Marrakech deserves, especially in front of tourists. It is evident to me that the company must become more effective in dealing with malfunctions. The residents have the right to demand better services, and the wastage of drinking water in this manner is alarming. Water is being wasted on the streets, and the local population needs to see swift solutions.

What is required is the rapid resolution of issues and the protection of water from further wastage. Citizen services and tourism should be a top priority. In my view, development necessitates efficient and reliable public services. It is unacceptable that pedestrian traffic should be hindered due to these malfunctions. The delays in repairing these issues raise significant questions about the company's operations. There needs to be clarification regarding the recurring nature of these problems. I believe that the technical teams must intervene more swiftly to address these concerns.
