Announcing the 2026 Morocco Book Award Nominations

The Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication has officially opened the nominations for the prestigious Morocco Book Award for the year 2026. This initiation aligns with the provisions of the decree number 2.05.830, dated 26 Ramadan 1427 (October 19, 2006), which established this esteemed award and its subsequent amendments. The award encompasses several categories, including:

  • Morocco Fiction Award
  • Morocco Poetry Award
  • Morocco Non-Fiction Award
  • Morocco Children's Literature Award
  • Morocco Academic Research Award
  • Morocco Translation Award
  • Morocco Graphic Novel Award
  • Morocco Cultural Heritage Award
  • Morocco Literary Award for Young Authors

Nominations for the Morocco Book Award are open to works published in 2025 or in the original Arabic language, as well as translations from foreign languages. The submissions must adhere to specific legal frameworks, ensuring that only works that meet these criteria will be considered. It is worth noting that no submissions will be accepted from authors who have not completed their works by the time of the award ceremony, which is set to occur in 2026. All interested candidates are encouraged to participate in this significant cultural event, which aims to highlight literary excellence and promote literary diversity.

The nomination file should include the following components:

  • A formal nomination request letter;
  • A completed application form as per the attached model, which can be downloaded from the official website;
  • A brief biography of the nominee, including their full name in Arabic and French, along with a description of their works and contributions;
  • A copy of the national identification document;
  • Three copies of the nominated book (for the respective categories), published within the specified timeframe;
  • A document proving the rights for translations, if applicable;
  • Any additional supporting documents that may strengthen the nomination.
