Significant Growth in Digital Business Formation in Morocco
The Moroccan landscape has witnessed a remarkable evolution in business establishment, with over 50,300 enterprises being created electronically since the inception of the 'DirectEntreprise' platform, as reported by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property. This initiative aims to enhance the business climate within Morocco, reflecting a strategic effort to simplify administrative processes and encourage investment.
Launched as a gradual project to foster electronic business creation and support, the platform began its pilot phase in February 2023 in Rabat, targeting professionals in accordance with Law 88.17, which governs electronic enterprise formation. Following the successful pilot, the system was rolled out nationwide in March 2025, making it accessible to a broader audience.
Accessible through the website directentreprise.ma, this platform serves as a singular digital interface for conducting all procedures related to business establishment across various government departments and agencies. These include the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property, the Ministry of Justice through local commercial court registries, the General Secretariat of the Government, the official printing office, the General Tax Directorate, and the National Social Security Fund.
Key Indicators and User Satisfaction
Since its launch, more than 3,200 professionals, including notaries, lawyers, accountants, and certified public accountants, have registered to utilize the services offered by the platform. The average duration for establishing a business via this electronic system stands at approximately three days for compliant applications, with some cases being completed in as little as 24 hours.
In 2026, electronic business registrations accounted for 44% of all new business formations, both digital and paper-based, with certain cities such as Fes, Dakhla, Rachidia, and others exceeding 70% engagement rates. This substantial adoption rate highlights the platform's effectiveness and utility in facilitating business operations in Morocco.
Moreover, a recent satisfaction survey revealed that 94% of users reported a highly positive and seamless experience when utilizing the platform, underscoring its importance in promoting user engagement and satisfaction.
This national initiative is managed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with various governmental bodies, including the Ministry of Justice, the General Secretariat of the Government, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the General Tax Directorate, the official printing office, and the National Social Security Fund. The collective efforts of these entities aim to build a robust framework that supports business development in Morocco.
