The meeting took place at the Mohammed VI Football Academy and was attended by CAF's First Vice President, alongside the interim Secretary General, Samson Adamu. In a press conference following the meeting, Motsepe emphasized the CAF's commitment to adhering to its regulations and ongoing legal procedures, notably regarding decisions made by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). He stated, "We must await the final verdict from the CAS." His remarks underscored the importance of protecting the integrity and reputation of the 54 national federations across Africa. Reflecting on the recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final, Motsepe expressed disappointment but also revealed plans for comprehensive reforms to the competition's rules and regulations. He acknowledged the need for adjustments to prevent future issues, stating, "We are currently revising several provisions within the general and specific regulations of AFCON to avert any recurrences." He assured that future sanctions would be stricter and more proportionate to violations, aiming to enhance the credibility of African football and uphold the sport's reputation both on the continent and globally.
Moreover, Motsepe commended the organization of the AFCON by Morocco, labeling the 2025 edition as the best in the history of the tournament despite challenges faced during the final match.
