PFL Africa Selects Casablanca for Landmark MMA Event

PFL Africa Expands Its Reach with Event in Casablanca

The Professional Fighters League Africa (PFL Africa) is poised to make a significant stride in its mission to broaden its footprint across the continent, with an exciting major event scheduled to take place in Casablanca. This initiative is being organized in collaboration with the Royal Moroccan Federation of Mixed Martial Arts (FRMMMA), which is set to bolster the development and popularity of mixed martial arts (MMA) within Morocco.

According to reports from Africa Intelligence, Elias Schulze, the director of PFL Africa, is anticipated to make an official announcement in the upcoming days regarding Morocco's hosting of this prestigious event. This milestone is not only a testament to the growing interest in MMA in the region but also highlights Morocco's potential as a central hub for combat sports on the African continent.

The initiative is led by Hamza El Harchali, the president of FRMMMA, and is part of a more extensive strategy aimed at establishing Morocco as a focal point for combat sports, particularly MMA. Since its launch in 2025, PFL Africa has been actively seeking to identify and tap into key markets within Africa, with countries such as Rwanda, Kenya, Nigeria, Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Tanzania, Egypt, and Morocco being focal points for future developments.

Based in Rabat, the Royal Moroccan Federation of Mixed Martial Arts was founded on September 30, 2018, with a clear mission to regulate, promote, and develop MMA in all its forms throughout the Kingdom. The collaboration between PFL Africa and FRMMMA illustrates a promising future for the sport in Morocco, as it seeks to attract both local and international audiences to the thrilling world of mixed martial arts.
