Significant Drug Bust in Khanshala

This week, the operational teams of Khanshala's police successfully thwarted a criminal plan aimed at smuggling a substantial quantity of processed cannabis, weighing approximately 242 kilograms, originating from Morocco. The authorities arrested three individuals linked to an organized international drug trafficking network, as reported by the communication department of the National Police Directorate.

Details of the Operation

The operation, which was executed in two phases, initially resulted in the seizure of 131 kilograms of processed cannabis concealed inside a utility vehicle within the Khanshala region. This first phase also led to the arrest of two individuals with prior criminal records. Following meticulous field investigations, police were able to identify a third suspect and apprehended him in the city of Constantine, where 111 kilograms of processed cannabis were found cleverly hidden in another utility vehicle.

After completing all necessary legal procedures, the suspects were presented before the public prosecutor at the Khanshala court. This operation underscores the ongoing efforts of Algerian law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and protect the community from the dangers posed by illegal substances.
