Significant Drug Bust Near Ben Slimane
In a significant operation carried out by the National Judicial Police Brigade, authorities successfully thwarted an international drug smuggling attempt, seizing nearly three tons of hashish. This operation took place in the vicinity of Ben Slimane, following precise intelligence provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance. The authorities managed to intercept a commercial vehicle that was transporting the illicit substance after a high-speed chase. The vehicle's driver attempted to escape by driving against traffic on the highway but ultimately abandoned the vehicle close to Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.
Upon conducting a thorough search of the abandoned vehicle, law enforcement officials discovered a total of 75 bundles of hashish, amounting to 2,960 kilograms. This successful interception highlights the ongoing efforts of Moroccan authorities to combat drug trafficking and ensure the safety of the public. Following the seizure, the National Judicial Police Brigade has initiated an investigation under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor's office to apprehend the driver and all individuals involved in this criminal network.
