Strategic Expansion in the Aerospace Sector
On April 21, 2026, Pratt & Whitney Canada marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in the Midparc Industrial Zone of Nouaceur, Casablanca, Morocco. This new site, sprawling across 130,000 square feet, is set to enhance the company’s global supply chain and bolster production capabilities for a variety of aircraft engine programs, most notably the renowned PT6 engine family. The establishment of this facility is expected to generate around 200 new jobs by 2030, aligning with Pratt & Whitney's commitment to meet the escalating demand for high-quality and reliable engines in the aviation industry.
Maria Della Posta, President of Pratt & Whitney Canada, expressed the significance of this new site, stating, "This facility is a strategic extension of our global production network and demonstrates our commitment to building resilient supply chains worldwide that will enable us to increase production for our customers." The firm is also dedicated to fostering local talent by collaborating closely with community organizations to cultivate the next generation of aerospace professionals, thereby reinforcing Morocco's emerging status as a pivotal player in the aerospace segment.
Innovative Design and Operational Excellence
Since initiating construction in 2024, the Pratt & Whitney facility in Morocco has swiftly transitioned from the building phase to operational readiness. This includes the recruitment of a skilled workforce, technical training, and the integration of advanced machining equipment designed to adhere to lean manufacturing principles. The facility's design incorporates cutting-edge digital systems aimed at enhancing quality, operational excellence, and efficiency throughout the production process. Notably, this site joins the ranks of other RTX operations, including Collins Aerospace, which has been providing cockpit solutions and flight controls in Morocco since 2012, contributing to a robust employment landscape that currently supports approximately 250 workers across both facilities.
Pratt & Whitney, a subsidiary of RTX, has long been at the forefront of the aerospace industry, specializing in the design, manufacture, and service of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units for military, commercial, and civil aviation clients.
