Princess Lalla Meryem Hosts Al-Quds Children in Rabat
In a heartwarming gesture reflecting Morocco's unwavering solidarity with the Holy City and its inhabitants, Princess Lalla Meryem welcomed a group of children from Al-Quds on Sunday at the Royal Guest Palace in Rabat. This event was part of the 17th edition of the summer camps organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, held under the auspices of King Mohammed VI. The gathering was attended by various officials and supervisors accompanying the young participants from Al-Quds.
This year’s summer camp, aptly named "Manarat Assalam" or "Beacon of Peace," is taking place from August 12 to 26 and brings together 50 boys and girls aged 11 to 14, all accompanied by five supervisors. The program is rich with educational, sporting, and artistic activities, complemented by cultural outings that allow the participants to explore different regions of Morocco. Notably, these children will also have the opportunity to interact and share experiences with Moroccan peers, fostering a sense of community and understanding.
As the event concluded, a reception was held in honor of the children, where they presented Princess Lalla Meryem with commemorative gifts, symbolizing their gratitude and the bonds formed during their time in Morocco. Since the inception of these summer camps in 2008, the initiative has offered 850 children from Al-Quds, along with 85 supervisors, the chance to discover Morocco and experience the genuine support of the Moroccan people towards Palestinians.
