Progress on Morocco's High-Speed Train Project Reaches 30% Completion

Significant Milestone Achieved in High-Speed Train Development

The Moroccan government announced today that the construction of the high-speed train (TGV) connecting Kenitra to Marrakech has reached a completion rate of 30%. The project is now slated for delivery in December 2029. During a session at the House of Representatives, Transport and Logistics Minister Abdel Samad Guioh emphasized that this initiative aims to significantly reduce travel times between Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakech, while also enhancing connectivity with Mohammed V Airport and the Grand Stadium of Benslimane.

Minister Guioh further revealed that the studies for the second phase of the project, which will link Marrakech to Agadir, have been completed. He pointed out that this ambitious project necessitates substantial investments, particularly for the construction of bridges and tunnels in the High Atlas region. In the same context, Guioh confirmed that the regional suburban trains have also achieved a completion rate of 30%. He highlighted that these projects are set to bolster public transportation, alleviate pressure on roadways, and support the economic infrastructure of the kingdom.
