Legal Proceedings Against Police Officers in Fes
On October 13, 2026, the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal in Fes will commence the trial of six police officers from Taza, including the head of the anti-gang unit. According to sources from "Kood," the investigative judge has pursued these individuals based on judicial inquiries conducted by the National Police Brigade concerning their suspected connections with drug traffickers.
The details of this case stem from a complaint received by the General Directorate of National Security from a whistleblower. This complaint accused police officers working in the regional security of Taza of engaging in acts and violations that are suspected to fall under criminal law. As a result, the General Inspectorate of National Security was tasked with conducting an investigation in June 2023.
Upon completing their investigations, the report from the General Inspectorate concluded that the suspicions against the involved police officers were of a criminal nature rather than administrative. Subsequently, the National Police Brigade intervened to initiate a judicial investigation into the matter. The judicial process has now reached a significant milestone with the referral of the six officers to the Criminal Chamber in Fes, where their trial is set to begin on the aforementioned date.
