Royal Air Maroc Enhances Passenger Experience with Boeing 787-8 Cabin Renovations

In a significant move aimed at upgrading its long-haul service offerings, Royal Air Maroc has announced a comprehensive renovation of the cabins in seven of its Boeing 787-8 aircraft. This decision comes after the national carrier acquired these aircraft between 2014 and 2016, and was formalized during the Marrakech Air Show on October 8, 2026. The agreement was signed by Fahad Mohammed Al Mheiri, President of Boeing for the Middle East, Gulf, and North Africa, and Naoual Ait Hammou, Director of Air Operations at Royal Air Maroc.

The renovation initiative is designed to align the older Boeing 787-8 cabins with the standards of newer aircraft in Royal Air Maroc's expanding fleet, which currently boasts a total of 71 aircraft. According to Naoual Ait Hammou, this upgrade is crucial for maintaining consistency across the airline's service offerings, especially as it continues to modernize its fleet. The renovation will include the installation of next-generation seating that promises enhanced comfort and increased space for passengers, along with an updated in-flight entertainment system.

Furthermore, the new cabin configurations will be equipped with "international specifications" that meet the evolving comfort requirements of travelers, particularly on long-haul flights where passenger comfort is paramount. The upgrades are especially pertinent for routes that connect Morocco to far-flung destinations, including Beijing.

As part of this renovation, Royal Air Maroc will also implement the Starlink internet service on these aircraft. This will enhance connectivity for passengers, allowing them to stay connected even when soaring at high altitudes. Naoual Ait Hammou emphasized that the activation of the Starlink internet service will coincide with the completion of the cabin renovations, further elevating the travel experience for passengers aboard these aircraft.

Royal Air Maroc's commitment to innovation and passenger satisfaction is evident in this renovation project, which is set to enhance the airline's reputation for quality service in the competitive aviation market. With a total of 13 Dreamliner aircraft in its fleet, including seven Boeing 787-8 and six Boeing 787-9 models, the airline is poised to provide an even more elevated travel experience for its customers.
