Important Royal Appointments Announced
On June 5, 2026, the Royal Office of Morocco issued a statement announcing significant appointments within the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, following a meeting held on June 4, 2026, at the Royal Palace in Rabat. His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, welcomed the newly appointed members of the council, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the relevant organic law governing the council's operations.
The statement highlighted that Mr. Mohamed Abdennabaoui has been reappointed for a second term as the President of the Court of Cassation, and in his capacity, he will also act as the Presiding Judge of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary. Additionally, two new members, Ms. Latifa Harradji and Mr. Nadir Moumni, were appointed to join the council. His Majesty also renewed the appointments of Mr. Mohammed Zouak and Mr. Mohammed Nasser for a second term, as per the prerogatives granted to the King by the Constitution in appointing members to the Supreme Council of the Judiciary.
During this meeting, the two new council members took their oaths in the presence of His Majesty, demonstrating their commitment to fulfilling their roles with integrity and dedication. Such appointments are crucial for maintaining the rule of law and ensuring the independence of the judiciary in Morocco.
