Saudi Football Transfer Update
The Saudi Football Federation has officially announced the loan of player Faisal Al-Ghamdi to Neom Club for the remainder of the current season. This decision was made to allow Al-Ghamdi an opportunity for more playing time and experience in the competitive environment of the Saudi league.
In a statement released on their official X account, the Federation mentioned, "The club management has agreed to Neom Club's request to loan Faisal Al-Ghamdi until the end of the season. We wish the player success and hope he benefits from this professional experience." This move marks a significant moment in Al-Ghamdi's career as he transitions from being a part of the Union team to embracing a new challenge with Neom.
At 25 years old, Al-Ghamdi has played 51 matches with the Union club across various competitions, during which he scored two goals and provided three assists. His career began with the Al-Ettifaq team before transferring to the Union in the 2023/2024 season. Following a loan stint with Belgian club Beerschot, he returned to the Union last summer, contributing to the team's success in the previous season.
Recently, the Union Club secured its place in the group stage of the Asian Champions League by defeating Al-Jazira of the UAE with a score of 4-1 in the preliminary round. Notably, Al-Ghamdi was not included in the team's lineup as preparations for his loan to Neom progressed.
