On April 11, 2026, the conference hall of the Higher School of Arts and Crafts at Moulay Ismail University in Meknes hosted a significant scholarly event dedicated to exploring the book titled "Self-Governance in Moroccan Sahara: From Management Phase to Change Phase, A Vision of the King and Triumph of National Unity and the Nation," authored by Dr. Idriss Didah. This event was organized by the Atlantic Center for Strategic Studies and Security Analysis, in collaboration with the Morocco Regions Foundation and several other academic and research institutions, including the Ibn Rushd Center for Comparative Legal Studies and the Center for Governance and Territorial Development.

The gathering was presided over by the Governor of Meknes, accompanied by the President of the Fes-Meknes Regional Council and various regional authorities, including the Chief of Police in Meknes and the President of Moulay Ismail University. The event saw the participation of numerous local officials, including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, various judicial entities from Meknes and Fes, and senior military and civil defense leadership.

Among the attendees were notable researchers and academics such as Dr. Mohammed El Khamssi, Dr. Nour El Din Belhadad, Dr. Abdel Rahim El Manar Silimi, and Professor Khaled Ghazi, who provided critical analyses and discussions surrounding the themes of the book. They focused on the legal, political, and developmental dimensions of the self-governance proposal for the Moroccan Sahara and explored its potential evolution in light of national and international changes. Their insightful contributions significantly enriched the discourse during the session.

The event was skillfully moderated by the prominent media figure and news director at Channel Two, Jamal Kallhassen, ensuring a dynamic and engaging interaction among the participants.
