Weather Alerts for Morocco: Thunderstorms and Heat Waves
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued an alert predicting the likelihood of thunderstorms accompanied by hail and gusty winds, as well as high temperatures, impacting various regions of the kingdom over the weekend, specifically on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the meteorological bulletin categorized under an "orange" warning level, it is anticipated that thunderstorms will bring rainfall amounts ranging from 25 to 35 millimeters in the provinces of Ifrane, Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, Khenifra, Taza, Driouch, Figuig, Jerada, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, and Azilal. These conditions are expected to commence on Saturday from 1 PM and continue until 11 PM.
Furthermore, the same weather phenomenon is projected to affect the provinces of Al Hoceima, Sefrou, Khenifra, Taza, Taourirt, Ifrane, and Driouch on Sunday, starting at 1 PM and lasting until 11 PM as well.
Additionally, the General Directorate of Meteorology has warned of extremely high temperatures today, Saturday, with thermometers likely to reach between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius in the regions of Oued Ed-Dahab, Tata, Boujdour, Assa-Zag, Oussard, and Smara.
