Severe Weather Disrupts Flight Operations at Marrakech Airport
On the evening of September 6, 2026, severe weather conditions caused significant disruptions at Marrakech Menara Airport, resulting in two easyJet flights being unable to land as scheduled. The first affected flight was EZS52HV from easyJet Switzerland, which was expected to arrive from Geneva at approximately 6:05 PM. The second flight, EJU18NE from easyJet Europe, was coming from Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris and was scheduled to land around 5:45 PM.
Due to the adverse weather conditions, both aircraft were forced to circle the area while waiting for visibility to improve and safe landing conditions to be restored. This situation heightened caution within the airport, coinciding with the ongoing weather fluctuations being experienced in Marrakech and its vicinity.
