The Sharjah International Marine Sports Club (SIMSC) recently returned from Morocco with a remarkable achievement, having participated in the International Maritime Festival held in Rabat from July 4 to July 13, 2026. The club's athletes excelled across various disciplines including lifesaving, rowing, and sailing, earning a collection of medals that showcased their talent and hard work, thereby establishing SIMSC as one of the standout clubs at this year’s event.
Beginning with lifesaving, the club's athletes displayed exceptional prowess, dominating several races. Notably, the youth competitors swept the podium, claiming the top three positions in their category, and additionally secured a bronze medal in the open competition, highlighting the robustness of their lifesaving program.
In the rowing events, Hassan Ismail Al Hosani emerged as a star performer by clinching three gold medals. His victories included first place in the under-16 beach rowing championship, triumph in the 500-meter individual race during the indoor rowing night for under-15s, and the under-16 Olympic rowing title. Other notable performances came from Zayed Saif Al Naqbi, who finished second in the 500-meter race, and Mohammed Ibrahim Al Naqbi, who earned two bronze medals in the under-16 beach rowing and the individual events. The achievements of these young athletes underscore the depth of talent nurtured within the club.
Furthermore, the sailing team delivered impressive performances that reflected their growth and technical skills in the sport. Their contributions not only added to the medal tally but also reinforced Sharjah’s reputation among the festival’s leading clubs.
Ahmed Issa Al Hosani, the director general of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club and head of the participating delegation, expressed pride in the athletes' results, attributing their success to rigorous training and the technical programs in place to develop their skills. He emphasized that competing on an international stage is crucial for honing their abilities and preparing them for future competitions.
This successful outing at the Rabat Maritime Festival serves as a testament to the dedication and talent of the athletes at the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, paving the way for continued excellence in marine sports.
