Shocking Assault on a Young Girl Sparks Outrage in Ibn Jirir

A seven-year-old girl was the victim of a horrific sexual assault on Friday, May 29, in Ibn Jirir, sparking outrage within the local community. The incident occurred when a 24-year-old neighbor forcefully coerced her to accompany him to an abandoned house. Fortunately, law enforcement authorities were able to apprehend the suspect shortly after the assault.

According to a neighbor of the victim who spoke with the newspaper "Al Omk", the young girl was on her way to fulfill a family errand when she was unexpectedly confronted by the assailant. He subjected her to a brutal attack that resulted in severe injuries and bleeding. It was only when several residents became aware of the situation and gathered around the area that the perpetrator was compelled to release the child, who was left bleeding, and flee across the rooftops of nearby houses.

In response to this alarming event, a security alert was raised in the region. Local police officers initiated a swift investigation that quickly led them to identify the suspect's hiding place, ultimately arresting him in the home of one of his relatives.

Following directives from the public prosecutor at the Marrakech Court of Appeals, the victim was transported to the local hospital. Initial medical examinations confirmed that she had sustained serious bodily harm, prompting the decision to refer her to a forensic doctor at the university hospital in Marrakech for a comprehensive report detailing the extent of her injuries.

The arrested individual has been placed under police custody pending an investigative inquiry overseen by the judicial police, aimed at uncovering all the circumstances surrounding this distressing incident. Meanwhile, the family of the suspect has presented a medical file indicating that he suffers from mental and psychological disorders.
