Essaouira-Mogador International Airport has reported a remarkable increase of 11.97% in passenger numbers by the end of April 2026, compared to the same period last year, according to data from the National Airports Office. The office revealed in its regular statistics pertaining to commercial air transport for April 2026 that the airport welcomed a total of 97,881 travelers during the first four months of the current year, up from 87,420 during the corresponding period last year. In April alone, the number of passengers passing through Essaouira-Mogador Airport reached 32,065, marking a substantial rise of 25.29% compared to 25,593 passengers in April 2025.
Data regarding the distribution of air traffic at this airport infrastructure up to the end of April highlights the dominance of international flights, with a total of 97,641 travelers, reflecting an increase of 14.41%. In contrast, domestic flights saw a significant decline, accommodating only 240,000 passengers, which is an 88.43% drop. Regarding aircraft movements, the airport experienced a 16.31% increase, with a total of 756 flight operations recorded by the end of April 2026, compared to 650 flights during the same period last year.
On a national level, commercial air transport across the Kingdom's airports reached 12,336,962 passengers by the end of April 2026, representing a growth rate of 9.7% compared to the same period last year.
