Key Outcomes from the Souss-Massa Regional Company Administrative Council Meeting
On Friday, May 22, the Administrative Council of the Souss-Massa Regional Multi-Service Company convened under the leadership of the Wali of the Souss-Massa region, who also serves as the council president. The meeting saw the participation of council members, sector representatives, and the company's management team, creating a collaborative environment aimed at evaluating the company's performance and future initiatives.
This meeting served as a platform to review the company's operational achievements and work program, as well as to assess the technical, financial, and commercial indicators recorded in recent months. This evaluation is part of the ongoing efforts to implement reforms and modernize water, electricity, and wastewater services in the region.
In his opening remarks, the Wali commended the collective efforts of the various components of the company in ensuring the continuity and quality of essential services. He emphasized the importance of enhancing managerial efficiency and accelerating the pace of major projects linked to water and energy security, which are crucial for supporting the region's developmental dynamics.
During the council proceedings, a series of indicators and figures were presented, showcasing the company's performance. The revenue reached approximately 4.17 billion dirhams, with a gross operating surplus of 443 million dirhams. The collection rate for private customers was notably high at 97.2%, alongside the resolution of over 51,000 complaints, achieving an impressive completion rate of nearly 99.79%.
In terms of human resources and customer services, the company employs 1,427 individuals and maintains 52 agencies and customer relationship centers. As part of its commitment to enhancing digital communication and service quality, over 3.1 million text messages were sent to clients.
In the drinking water sector, approximately 94.7 million cubic meters of water were distributed, with an average supply rate exceeding 3,000 liters per second to meet demand. The region boasts 226 storage tanks with a total capacity of 233,000 cubic meters and an autonomy of approximately 22 hours. Additionally, the distribution efficiency improved to 74.8%, marking an increase compared to 2024, with a service accessibility rate nearing 97%.
Regarding electricity, the company operates 23 production centers with a total installed capacity of 1,307.7 megavolt-amperes, while the required capacity stood at 581 megavolt-amperes. The distribution efficiency reached 92.65%, reflecting improvements from the previous year. Efforts to modernize networks and strengthen technical infrastructures in vital and tourist areas continued as planned.
In the wastewater treatment and reuse sector, the company manages 19 treatment plants and 71 pumping stations, with a network extending over 4,032 kilometers. The volume of treated wastewater reused was approximately 7 million cubic meters in 2025, supporting environmental projects and promoting sustainable water resource management.
The council's proceedings concluded with the auditors approving the 2025 annual accounts without reservations. Furthermore, there was a reaffirmation of the commitment to mobilize technical, human, and financial resources to support major developmental projects, enhance service quality, and improve performance indicators in line with the aspirations of the Souss-Massa population.
